Peter Olsen is a photographer based out of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada.

While self-taught, I have been fascinated by photography all my life. Originally shooting film years ago, I have made the transition to digital along with many others. I am a member of the Professional Photographers Association of Canada- BC Chapter.

Most of my work focuses on Landscapes and Commercial photography. I also enjoy Portrait, Corporate, Architectural, Industrial, as well as Event and Agricultural photography. My aim is to "find the extraordinary in the ordinary. To interpret everyday subjects in a unique and compelling way...to look at our planet in a whole new light."

My work has appeared in numerous publications and has been used by Tourism Kamloops, The City of Kamloops (including 2 photo collages in the Lobby of City Hall), Royal Inland Hospital Foundation Gala Fundraisers, Ridgepointe Seniors Community, The Kamloops Foundation, Tournament Capital Centre, Crimestoppers International, Hampton Inn's, Berwick on the Park, the Kamloops Art Gallery and has been used as numerous Website banners. I am also a contributing photographer to Thompson/Okanagan Life Magazine and a commissioned photographer for Thompson Rivers University (TRU). I have also sold my work to individuals and have also donated my images to not-for-profit organizations. Most recently, I was chosen by PhotoSensitive out of Toronto to cover the local Prostate Cancer Walk in Kamloops, with a serious of black and white photographs of men who have fought the disease or have lost a loved one to it. PhotoSensitive was founded in 1990 as a non-profit collective of photographers determined to explore how photography can contribute to social justice.

All my images are for sale as prints. I do not send the digital image files. Except for web clients that require them for visual banners and graphics. Please remember, the images that appear on this website are only, small low resolution photos. The clarity and colours are very limited on the Web and differences on computer monitors may cause colour-shift and de-saturation. The 'prints' will look immensely better.
